It’s been a PACKED week for me. As I said last week, working on back-to-back novels while living through the collapse of our democracy, having a full-time job, training for a marathon, and being a single mom is not something I would recommend. I am about to close up shop (aka my laptop) for the weekend though. Here’s to a restful weekend!
Quote of the week:
“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” —Albert Camus
What I’m reading:
The Unmothers by Leslie J. Anderson. I can’t remember how this book got in my queue. It’s not a book I would usually read because it has a sort of horror/supernatural element, but I’m really liking it.
What I’m listening to:
Just finished Rage Becomes Her: The Power of Women’s Anger by Soraya Chemaly…and WOW. Such a good book. Everyone should read.
What I’m watching:
White Lotus Season 3. This one-episode-a-week thing is maddening! Must binge! I’ve also been into Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix, about a health influencer gone wrong (based on a true story).
Writing news:
I’m in the thick of edits on my 2026 novel, which is due to my publisher on April 1. Ah! I’m seeing advance copies of Woman on the Verge making the rounds on Instagram and that makes me so excited.
Interesting things I learned this week:
The only thing I noted this week was this: A group of zebras is called a dazzle.
It’s been another incredibly busy week.
Weirdest thing I googled this week:
“what do leprechauns eat?” My daughter is making her leprechaun trap, complete with enticing offerings, and she instructed me to perform this google search. The answer: “While there’s no definitive answer in folklore, leprechauns are often associated with a fondness for things like Lucky Charms (especially the marshmallows), chocolate coins, and anything green (but not vegetables), as well as items like potatoes and whiskey.”
What I’m grateful for:
- A BEAUTIFUL 16-mile run this morning. One of the most gorgeous training runs of this cycle. It felt amazing. Photo below
- Turning in a big project at work. It was a beast
- Making progress on my book edits
- Time with my sweet boyfriend. I’m very lucky
- Twelve years with my kitties—celebrating their birthdays this month!
